Up to 40 lives per year could be saved by plans to set up four new specialist major trauma centres, as part of an enhanced network of care for major trauma patients. The centres will be located at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and the new Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

I was given a fantastic opportunity to work with the Allied Forces Foundation, which is a British-American foundation working to raise awareness and funding for allied wounded and their families affected by the conflict of Iraq and Afghanistan, mainly through support of veteran's team participation in sporting events.
The most significant of these events is the renowned Marine Corps Marathon, which takes place in Washington DC, USA on the last weekend of October.
SNAP Trial Results Published
EMeRGE and the SNAP team are proud to announce the results of the SNAP trial. Paper was published in The Lancet today showing that a modified 12 hour acetylcysteine regimen resulted in less vomiting, fewer anaphylactoid reactions, and reduced need for treatment interruption.
