EMS International Conference 2016 – Copenhagen, Denmark
Teodora Filipescu
With the kind financial support from Medic One, I was able to attend the Emergency Medicine Services International Conference held in Copenhagen, May 2016.
After submitting an abstract, I was pleased to be invited to present a poster with the results of my research project entitled ‘Survey assessing patients' interest and opinion in receiving health information and education as part of their Emergency Department presentation’.
The project was conducted in the RIE emergency department, under the supervision of Prof Alasdair Gray from the EMERGE group. To our knowledge, this was the first research of this nature conducted in the UK and the results are interesting and thought provoking. A summary presentation of the project is attached to this page.
The poster was well received and sparked questions among the judges as well as the conference attendees. I am particularly proud to have represented the EMERGE group and The University of Edinburgh at an international level.
Apart from the chance of presenting my work, the conference as a whole was a valuable educational opportunity for myself. It was by far the largest and most impressive conference I have attended and it was very exciting to meet and listen to emergency medicine figureheads from across the world.
Thank you Medic One for your support!
