The College of Emergency Medicine receives the title ‘Royal’
The College of Emergency Medicine is delighted that it has been granted the title ‘Royal’. The College will henceforth be known as ‘The Royal College of Emergency Medicine’. This honour recognises the contribution of thousands of people working in A&E departments across the NHS.
President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Dr Clifford Mann said:
“This is such great news for the specialty and a real encouragement to the hard working doctors and consultants in UK emergency departments. The pressures on emergency medicine are significant and never more so than at the current time. Our Members and Fellows have delivered caring and effective patient care despite the systemic imbalances of demand and resource. It makes a very welcome change to have some good news. Our Members and Fellows will take great encouragement from the honour bestowed upon them.”
